Even during my studies, polarization microscopy on thin sections was particularly fascinating to me because it is an optical method that provides combined information about structure and mineralogical composition. This interplay allows for entirely new conclusions to be drawn about the specimen being examined, which offers enormous advantages, especially in materials science.
After many years of professional experience as a research associate in environmental technology and, most recently, in the field of concrete and cement research, I decided to take my passion for microscopy to a new level by founding my own company. In upcoming posts, I will present exciting and practical examples that will provide insight into the benefits of concrete microscopy. Topics on specialized microscopy and rock microscopy will also be covered.
I hope I’ve sparked your interest—see you soon!
